ObjectiveTo explore and compare the effect of sucrose solution combined with non-nutritive sucking,non-nutritive sucking and sucrose solution on the pain of neonates receiving intravenous puncture.MethodsFrom June 2015 to June 2016,120 newborn infants who received venous puncture were randomly selected into three groups: sucrose solution combined with non-nutritive sucking group,non-nutritive sucking group,sucrose solution group,each group of 40 newborns.Two minutes before the venipuncture,the sucrose solution combined with the non-nutritive sucking group was given 2 ml of a 24% sucrose solution and fed with a pacifier;the non-nutritive sucking group was given only a pacifier;the sucrose solution group gave only 2 ml of a 24% sucrose solution;Non-nutritive sucking interventions continued until 4 minutes after venipuncture was completed.The effects of the three groups of interventions on pain relief were assessed using behavioral indicators(pain face,crying,Neonatal Infant Pain Scale)and physiological indicators(heart rate,oxygen saturation).Results1.Sucrose solution combined with non nutritive sucking group vein puncture stage and restoration stage of neonatal pain score is respectively 2 and 1,3 and 2 sucrose solution group,non nutritive sucking group is 5 and 4,the three groups in the two stage,difference is statistically significant(P<0.017).Sucrose solution and non nutritive sucking group received intravenous puncture pain after the face for 16 seconds 22 seconds less than sucrose group and non nutritive sucking group for 53 seconds,there is significant difference between three groups(P<0.017),sucrose solution and non nutritive sucking group and sucrose solution group intravenous puncture after crying number for less than 20 of non nutritive sucking group.The number of 31,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.017).The duration of crying after sucrose solution combined with non nutritive sucking group and sucrose solution group is 11 seconds and 18 seconds,which was less than that of non nutritive sucking group for 37.5 seconds,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.017).There is no statistical difference in the duration of crying duration between the sucrose solution group and the sucrose solution group and the non nutritive sucking group for 11 seconds(P>0.05).2.Sucrose solution combined with non nutritive sucking group vein puncture stage,the mean heart rate is 128.38 ± 16.45 / min.Heart rate is 143.83 ± 17.31 / min lower than the sucrose and non nutritive sucking heart rate is 156 ± 16.39 / min,there were significant differences between three groups(P<0.05).Sucrose solution and non nutritive sucking group vein oxygen saturation stage mean 95.66 ± 2.12% higher than the average of 94.06 ± 2.13% sucrose solution group and non nutritive sucking group 92.02 ± 2.55%,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The recovery stage of 2min,sucrose solution and non nutritive sucking heart rate is 122.63 ± 15.69 / min and sucrose solution is 132 ± 12.40 / min mean heart rate is lower than the non nutritive sucking group 147.38 ± 13.52 / min,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),sucrose solution and non nutritive sucking group heart rate and sucrose solution group there are no statistically significant differences(P>0.05).At the recovery stage of 2min,the mean value of blood oxygen saturation in sucrose solution combined with non nutritive sucking group.The mean blood oxygen saturation of 96.4 ± 1.90% and sucrose solution group is 94.9 ± 1.66%,higher than that of non nutritive sucking 92.8 ± 1.32%,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05),there is no significant difference between the sucrose solution and the non nutritive sucking group,the difference between the blood oxygen saturation and the sucrose solution group(P>0.05).At recovery stage 4min,there is no significant difference in heart rate and blood oxygen saturation between the three groups(P>0.05).ConclusionSucrose solution combined with non-nutritive sucking can reduce the Neonatal Infant Pain Scale and reduce the heart rate and improve the oxygen saturation during neonatal venipuncture.Sucrose solution combined with non-nutritive sucking to relieve the pain caused by venipuncture is better than sucrose solution and non-nutritive sucking separately,sucrose solution is better than non-nutritive sucking.
