ObjectiveBy comparing COPD and non-COPD respiratory disease, COPD with mild to moderate group and severe and very severe group, pulmonary cardiac compensation group and pulmonary cardiac decompensation group of thyroid hormone levels between groups whether the difference of serum thyroid hormone levels in the correlation between. At the same time for further study of whether through the regulation of hormone could COPD patients in remission or whether COPD patients can improve quality of life in remission for preliminary data preparation.MethodsRandomly selected the admitted patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease from May 2008 to October 2009 for the COPD group, divided into Mild to moderate group and severe and very severe group according to pulmonary function.; severe and very severe group was divided into pulmonary cardiac compensation group and pulmonary cardiac decompensation group. Select the same period while the non-hospitalized patients as non-COPD respiratory disease COPD group (Exclusion associated with thyroid disease and the disease can affect the thyroid function as well as the patients taken the drugs that can affect the thyroid function). All objects were taken 5ml venous blood in the early morning fasting state, and Using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) detect Serum TT3 (serum 3 triiodothyronine), FT3 (serum free triiodothyronine 3), TT4 (serum thyroxine), FT4 (serum free thyroxine), h-TSH (high-sensitivity thyroid-stimulating hormone); simultaneous extraction of peripheral blood for blood gas analysis; all COPD patients are treated as pulmonary function tests.Statistical analysis: The SPSS16.0 statistical analysis software for data analysis. Paired t test to compare COPD group and non-COPD group's age, in order to Kruskal-Wallis comparison group with mild to moderate COPD and severe and very severe groups, pulmonary cardiac compensation group and pulmonary cardiac decompensation group between groups of age. Chi-square test COPD group and the non-COPD group, mild to moderate group and severe and very severe group, pulmonary cardiac and pulmonary decompensation group decompensated cardiac function between groups of gender composition.. Paired t test to compare COPD group and the non-COPD group of thyroid hormone levels, Rank sum test compared thyroid hormone levels of COPD with mild to moderate group and severe and very severe group, pulmonary cardiac compensation group and pulmonary cardiac decompensation group.Results1. Each group of patients between the age and sex composition ratio was not statistical significance.2. The serum TT3, FT3, TT4, h-TSH expression level of COPD group and non-COPD group was statistical significance (P <0.05), FT4 was not statistical significance (P> 0.05).3. The serum TT3, FT3, TT4, h-TSH expression level of mild to moderate group and severe and very severe group was statistical significance (P <0.05), FT4 was not statistical significance (P> 0.05). 4. The serum TT3, FT3, TT4, h-TSH expression level of pulmonary cardiac compensation group and pulmonary cardiac decompensation group was statistical significance (P <0.05).Conclusion1.The serum TT3, FT3, TT4, h-TSH expression level of COPD lower than that of non-COPD group.2.The serum TT3, FT3, TT4, h-TSH expression level of severe and very severe group lower than that of mild to moderate group.3.The serum TT3, FT3, TT4, FT4, h-TSH expression level of pulmonary cardiac decompensation group lower than that of pulmonary cardiac compensation group.4. As the disease aggravated or serious complications occurred , The markers of thyroid hormone decreased gradually.
