Objective:To observe the effects of different extractives from persimmon leaves on glycemia, insulin and lipidemia in diabetic mice induced by streptozotocin (STZ). Methods:Various parts of persimmon were extracted and the experimental mice were randomly divided into 13 groups:control group, model group, DMBG group, high and low dosage groups of total ethanol fraction, high and low dosage groups of chloroform fraction, high and low dosage groups of ethyl acetate fraction, high and low dosage groups of n-butanol fraction, and high and low dosage groups of water-extract and ethanol-precipitate fraction. Except the control group, all groups were established type 2 diabetes mice model by intraperitoneal injection of STZ (150 mg/kg). After the drugs were administrated to experimental mice for 15 days, the fasting blood glucose (FBG), fasting insulin (FINS) and blood lipid were determined in diabetic mice. Results:Compared with the model group, the ethanol fraction, ethylacetate fraction, n-butanol fraction and water extract and alcohol precipitate fraction could significantly decrease blood glucose in STZ-induced diabetic mice, and decrease insulin resistance index (IR) and the contents of TG, TC and LDL-C in the serum and increased significantly insulin sensitivity index (ISI) and HDL-C content in the serum. Conclusion:Extracts from persimmon leaves can significantly reduce fasting blood glucose level in diabetic mice induced by STZ, improve insulin resistance and adjust metabolic disturbance. Chloroform fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, n-butanol fraction and water-extract and ethanol-precipitate fraction are main effective composition of effect. Objective:To study the antioxidative and the immunomodulation effects of extracts from persimmon leave. Methods:The blood was collected by pulling the eyeball after the drugs were administrated to experimental mice for 15 d, and centrifuged, and the upper serum was taken for detecting activities of content of GSH, NO and NEFA. SOD and MDA level in mice liver were both measured according to the methods of assay kits. Results:Extracts from persimmon leaves increased the contents of GSH and decreased the concents of NO and NEFA in serum. And increased the activity of SOD, decreased the concentration of MDA in mice liver, and improved thymus index and spleen index of diabetic mice effectively, thus increasing body immunity. Conclusion:Extracts from persimmon leaves posse a good antioxidative effect and increase immunity.
