Objective:To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of endovascular interventional therapy for avascular necrosis of femoral head. Methods:We retrospectively analyzed cases of Qilu hospital from the year 2009 to 2010 which had applied endovascular interventional therapy for avascular necrosis. There were 13 patients with 16 hips, including 8 male, 5 female, which aged from 39 to 63, average 47. There was one hip of the case with dysplasia of hip,5 hips of 3 cases with the history of taking amcinonide,4 hips of 3 cases with a long history of heavy drinking, and 6 hips of 6 cases with the history of trauma. They had significant hip pain and varying degrees of lameness, limited hip joint. The diagnosis was confirmed by the X-ray, CT or (and) MRI examination. By the Ficat stage: stageâ… ,5 cases; stageâ…¡,7 cases; stageâ…¢,1 case. We did the femoral artery puncture by Seldinger expansion of thrombolysis interventional therapy inside the arteriae circumflexa femoris medialis, lateralis and arteriae obturatoria of the 13 cases. Results:After the treatment, we did the follow-up about 6 months to one year, and used the criteria of Ficat to effective evaluation. Except one case, the pain of hip was disappeared or significantly reduced, and the effective rate was 93.75%. The X-ray showed that new bone formed.10 hips of 8 cases improved, the rate was about 62.5%, and 6 hips of 5 cases had no change, about 37.5%. Integrated platform evaluation:the effective rate was 93.75%.Conclusions:The endovasular interventional therapy for avascular necrosis of the femoral head has been achieved through clinical testing, and it is a new approach for the treatment, because it is simple, less invasive, fewer complications, and high local drug concentration.
