The Clinic Analysis Of Refractive Error Following Trabeculetomy

Purpose: To observate and analyze the possible factors and mechanisms that cause the refractive changes after trabeculectomy。Methods: The prospective research methodology was adopted for this study and a total number of 20 cases (31 eyes altogether) that have met the inclusion criteria were collected,7 in which used mitomycinC during the surgern . The degree of computer optometry spherical mirror number, corneal curvature and axial length were measured before the surgery and after the surgery within one and three mth respectively. The usage of mitomycinC during the surgery was also recorded. T test and non-parametric Wilcoxon signed-rank test were performed for the data analysis.Results: There is no significant difference (P> 0.05) for the degree of Spherical mirror before and after (1 and 3 mth respectively) the trabeculectomy(31 eges), as well as with the condition of using mitomycinC. The trabeculectomy(24 eyes) without using mitomycinC has significant difference (P<0.05) for the degree of Spherical mirror between before and after 3mth.Both the curvature of vertical direction and astigmatism with the rule were found to increase after 1mth of surgery. There is no significant difference (P> 0.05) for astigmatism with the rule for after 1mth and 3mth,it lasts until 3 m after surgern.There is no significant difference (P<0.05) for the axial length before and 3mth after the trabecullectomy. Conclusion: The trabeculectomy can increase the degree of spherical mirror after 3mth .The change are caused by multiple factors. Trabeculectomy mainly appressed astigmatism with the rule,and the astigmatism decreased as the time past.There is no change of axial length after 3mth with pre-surgern,which suggested that axial length had nothing to do with spherical mirror and astigmatism with the rule.
