Objective:To evaluate Postoperative corneal astigmatism following the same incisions of Trabeculectomy combined with cataract extraction. Methods:the combination of cataract surgery and implantation of intraocular Lenses through the same incision with trabeculectomy was performed on 32eyes (30 glaucoma patients with coexisting cataract). The corneal astigmatism was evaluated by TOPCON keratometer before and after the operation at 3d, 1w, 1m,3m.Results:The changes of corneal astigmatism were statistically significant between 3 day and 1 month(p<0.01). The corneal astigmatism was against-the-rule astigmatic in 3d, 1w, 1m, but changed to with-the-rule astigmatic in 3 months. against-the-rule astigmatic reached the maximum 3 days postoperatively(peak 3.09±0.59D) and decreased to 1.75±0.58D 1week postoperatively. The with-the-rule astigmatic was 0.73±0.22D 3 months postoperatively. Astigmatic changes was not found to be significant (p>0.05).Conclusion:the combination of cataract surgery and implantation of intraocular Lenses through the same incision with trabeculectomy can cause the larger astigmatic at early stage, but corneal astigmatism in most of the cases decreased as time pass by. Regression was found at 3monthes after surgery (P>0.05).
