Objective To investigate the expressions and relationship of DMBT1 and surviving in billary tract carcinoma, and to study the clinical significance. Methods The expression of DMBT1 and survivin were detected with immunohistochemistry(SABC) in 34 cases of gallbladder carcinoma,45 cases of cholangiocarcinoma,19 cases of gallbladder adenoma,11 cases of cholecystitis and 12 cases of cholangitis, and we dealed with statistics analysis according to the clinic pathologic character. Results (1)The percentage of the DMBT1-positive tissue was significantly lower in gallbladder carcinoma(38.2%) than in gallbladder adenoma(78.9%) and cholecystitis(90.9%), (P<0.05); The percentage of the survivin-positive tissue was significantly higher in gallbladder carcinoma(79.4%) than in gallbladder adenoma(15.8%) and cholecystitis(0%), (P<0.05).(2)The expression of DMBTI protein in gallbladder carcinoma is significantly related with tumor invasion and metastasis and clinical stage of tumor according to Nevin and not related with patient's age, sex, tumor stage; The expression of survivin protein in gallbladder carcinoma is significantly related with tumor invasion and metastasis and clinical stage of tumor according to Nevin and not related with patient's age, sex, tumor stage.(3)There was a negative linear correlation between the expression of DMBTI and survivin in gallbladder carcinoma,(r=-0.548,P<0.05).(4)The percentage of the DMBT1-positive tissue was significantly lower in cholangiocarcinoma(37.8%) than in cholangitis(91.7%),(P<0.05); The percentage of the survivin-positive tissue was significantly higher in cholangiocarcinoma(71.1%) than in cholangitis(16.7%),(P<0.05).(5) The expression of DMBTI protein in cholangiocarcinoma is significantly related with tumor invasion and metastasis and clinical stage of tumor according to TMN and not related with patient's age, sex, tumor stage; The expression of survivin protein in cholangiocarcinoma is significantly related with tumor invasion and metastasis and clinical stage of tumor according to TMN and not related with patient's age, sex, tumor stage.(6)There was a negative linear correlation between the expression of DMBTI and survivin in cholangiocarcinoma too,(r=-0.548,P<0.05). Conclusion (1)The expression levels of DMBTI and survivin were abnormal in gallbladder carcinoma, they have intensive correlation with the growth of gallbladder carcinoma.(2)The expression of DMBT1 and survivin in gallbladder carcinoma were significantly related with tumor invasion and metastasis. These results showed that the expression of them were significantly related with gallbladder carcinoma invasion and metastasis. (3) The expression levels of DMBT1 and survivin may be in coordination with the development of gallbladder carcinoma. (4) The expression levels of DMBT1 and survivin were abnormal in cholangiocarcinoma, they have intensive correlation with the growth of cholangiocarcinoma. (5) The expression of DMBT1 and survivin in cholangiocarcinoma were significantly related with tumor invasion and metastasis. These results showed that the expression of them were significantly related with cholangiocarcinoma invasion and metastasis. (6) The expression levels of DMBT1 and survivin may be in coordination with the development of cholangiocarcinoma too.
