Objective:To analyze surgical treatment of axillary osmidrosis that adopts the method of micro-incision to trim apocrine, causing reasons and clinical manifestations of complications. Also to discuss preventions and treatments of these complications, in order to reduce complications of the surgery and improve the treatment effect.Methods:226 cases from April 2007 to April 2010 have adopted the method of micro-incision subcutaneous trimming along central crease of axillary to treat axillary osmidrosis, to analyze and summarize the complications (including hematoma, subcutaneous fluid, seroma, healing delay, epidermal necrosis, edge of incision necrosis, incision varus, pseudo sebaceous cyst, wrinkled skin under the armpit, upper limbs dysfunction, scar, recurrence). To take effective measures to prevent and treat complications, in order to improve the treatment affect.Results:226 patients were followed-up from 2 months to 3 years.190 cases were primary healing, odor disappears. The remaining 36 cases had several complications. These complications included 11 cases of hematoma, 3 cases of subcutaneous fluid,1 case of seroma,5 cases of healing delay,1 case of epidermal necrosis,1 case of edge of incision necrosis,2 cases of incision varus,1 case of pseudo sebaceous cyst,5 cases of scar. By taking appropriate treatment measures, the complications disappeared. Other cases such as 3 cases of wrinkled skin under the armpit and 1 case of upper limbs dysfunction, without treatment, these complications took up to 3 to 6 months to disappear.2 cases of recurrence, they adopted surgical treatments and the odor disappeared. Conclusion:Currently, the treatments of osmidrosis, including drug-smearing, drug-injection, laser treatment and surgical treatment. Surgical treatment that adopts the method of micro-incision to trim Apocrine has the advantages of a high success rate, low relapse rate, and has inconspicuous incision. However, if the operation in handled improperly, there would be some complications affecting the results of operation. Through perfect preoperative preparation, standard surgical procedure and proper postoperative care, most of the complications can be prevented and controlled.
