Follow-up Study On Long Term Curative Effect Of Myasthenia Gravis

Objective:To find out what therapeutic schedule does patient choose, the improvement of symptoms, and the dose of drugs taken by follow-up myasthenia gravis patients who had been hospitalized in the digestive system department of the first affiliated hospital of traditional chinese medicine university of Guangzhou, then statistical analysis the situation and compare the effects of kinds of treatments.Methods:Consult the information of the myasthenia gravis patients in 2007-2009 on the electronic medical record system of the first affiliated hospital of traditional chinese medicine university of Guangzhou, follow-up the patients by phone-calling, record the information of age, sex, course of disease, symptoms and therapeutic schedule when discharging from hospital, symptoms and therapeutic schedule when followed-up, then statistical analysis the situation by the information.Results:There wasn't difference between thymusectomy group and only-drugs therapy group, but the patient who had taken the surgical removal of the thymus has a lower percentage of stopping taking drugs, and has a high percentage of death meanwhile. Though it is a little lower on total effective percentage of integration of traditional Chinese and modern medicine group rather than only modern medicine group, but it has a compared-very-high percentage of stopping taking drugs, and a lower percentage of death.Conclusions:There wasn't difference between thymusectomy group and drugs treatment group, but the patient who had taken the surgical removal of the thymus has a lower percentage of stopping taking drugs, and has a high percentage of death meanwhile. It points out that only-drug therapy has a certain extend advantage to thymusectomy therapy. Though it is a little lower on total effective percentage of integration of traditional Chinese and modern medicine group rather than only modern medicine group, but it has a compared-very-high percentage of stopping taking drugs, and a lower percentage of death. It means that integration therapy of traditional Chinese and modern medicine has advantage to only modern medicine therapy.
