ObjectivesTo evaluate the the effect of Yan's "Yi Xin Fang" on improving the quality of life diabetic patients with coronary heart disease, and to explore its mechanism of action, in order to lay the foundation for further research.MethodsFrom August 2009 to February 2010,48 cases of in-patient and out-patient of diabetic patients with coronary heart disease from Guangdong Hospital of TCM met the inclusion criteria. They were divided into by randomized controlling principle,Yixin Fang+conventional western medicine treatment group (treatment group) and western medicine treatment group (control group). They were 24 patients in each group. Two groups of diabetic patients with coronary heart disease were treated in accordance with conventional therapy, such as lowering blood sugar, anti-platelet aggregation, lipid, B-blockers and so on. The treatment group was treated with Yan's Yi Xin Fang daily, the treatment course was three months. TCM symptom scores, angina pectoris results, ECG changes were compared before and after treatment, nitroglycerin reduced the rate of stops and the main laboratory parameters (blood lipids, blood sugar, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein.) were statistical analysed.ResultAfter treatment, the result of these two groups with angina pectoris is as follows:Yi Xin Decoction treated group:effective 21 Cases, ineffective 3 Cases, the total efficiency 87.5%. Western Group:effective 15 Cases, ineffective 9 Cases, the total efficiency62.5%. And in improving the electrocardiogram, there was a significant difference (P<0.05). Monitoring patients after treatment lipids, glucose, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein were significantly higher than before, the improvement was statistically significant (P<0.05), in reducing TG, reducing LDL, hsCRP decreased, the Yixin Fang group decreased more significantly (P<0.05), compared with conventional western medicine group was statistically significant. In reducing TC, increasing HDL and the effect on blood glucose, two changes rather, no significant difference (P>0.05).Conc l us i onYi-Xin Fang had a significant efficacy in treating diabetes mellitus with coronary heart disease. Significant improvement can be seen to improve the clinical symptoms, the electrocardiogram, and lipid metabolism disorder.
