Hip is the most commonly involved peripheral joints, causing hip pain, fibrous or bony ankylosis, deformity, seriously affecting the quality of life.The current total hip replacement surgery for hip disease AS the main method. AS for the involvement of hip pain caused by the stubborn, the ability to work loss and damage of patients with pelvic structure, should not the age limit for total hip arthroplasty. AS special as the pathological changes of systemic multi-system disease,the total hip replacement there are some difficulties in its long-term efficacy is rarely reported.AS is a chronic debilitating disease, quality of life of its great significance.The current literature is mainly to surgical techniques and methods of presentation,and postoperative symptoms and deformity and degree of improvement activities, surgical treatment of the AS Quality of Life after the country has not been reported. AS patients were usually small, the body's inflammatory response after relatively heavy, AS still active, THA postoperative patients will need drug treatment. Chinese medicine treatment of AS in improving symptoms, regulate the immune function, has obvious advantages, and the toxic side effects caused widespread concern. Chinese medicine treatment of AS Quality of Life study shows that traditional Chinese medicine treatment of various dimensions of quality of life had improved, and the mental state and mental health to improve self-awareness has increased in different degree.This study involved the hip AS THA Combined with biological fixed after treatment in patients with Chinese hip function, quality of life to assess the situation, analyze its relevance to understand the quality of life of patients during this period the situation to find related evaluation of the clinical condition indicators help guide clinical rehabilitation prognosis in health education and improve the quality of life of patients with AS.MethodsIn our hospital in January 2003 in December-2009 use of biological fixed prosthesis THA,combined with traditional Chinese medicine treatment of 76 patients with ankylosing spondylitis (107 hips) were followed up.Preoperative assessment of all patients selected Harris score,quality of life status,follow-up, then its for Harris score and assessment of health related quality of life SF-36 health survey questionnaire concise score, and quality of life of residents and normal reference value of comparative analysis of Harris score and SF-36 correlation between the score.Result1,a total of 46 patients (67hips) patients received an average of 46 months (12-96 months); the average 30.8-year-old; 2,flexion deformity from preoperative average 30.13°(10°-60°) down to surgery After an average of 6(0°-10), flexion deformity correction 24.12±14.28, range of motion from preoperative 20.17(0-60°), after up 84.31 (65-110°). Harris Rating preoperative 32.88 minutes (12-58 minutes), follow-up, raised to 88.23 cents (69-98 minutes); 3,SF-36 scores of the quality of life significantly improved after operation (P<0.01), the rate of increase:23.45%-48.35%, a significant difference, P<0.01.4,SF-36 scale with all dimensions of the general population compared to the reference value, BP, RE, MH dimension compared with the reference values (P>0.05), PF,RP,GH, VT,SF scores were lower than normal groups (P<0.05), reductions were 9.4% to 37.5% in PF, RP and the GH, VT, SF decreased more significantly, were:32.97%, 37.5%,15.49%,11.76%.5,Harris score and the SF-36 analysis showed that the correlation between:In addition to MH, RE dimension, Harris score and physical health with the PF, BP, RP dimensions are significantly correlated, (P<0.01), (r=-0.68, P<0.01); r=-0.49, P<0.01; r=-0.53, P<0.01). And GH, RE, SF was low to moderate correlation, (r=-0.30,0.32).ConclusionAS hip after THA involvement of biological fixed combination of traditional Chinese medicine, and joint function in patients with SF-36 quality of life has significantly improved. Hip joint function to improve the situation worse than usual after THA. Psychological dimensions of quality of life improvements generally close to normal, indicating limited hip quality of life in patients after severe impact. Other dimensions except BP, MH, RE, are higher than the reference value of the general population is low, for the AS to comprehensive treatment, not only to control symptoms, maintain the overall function of the spine and hip, must also strengthen health education, increased family and social support, and psychological counseling..
