Pretreatment With A Mixture Of Flurbiprofen Axetil And Lidocaine In Reducing Pain On Injection Of Propofol

ObjectiveTo investigate the alleviation effect of vein pretreatment with a mixture of and Lidocaine flurbiprofen axetil in reducing pain on injection of propofol.MethodsOne hundred and sixty ASAâ… -â…¡patients undergoing general anaesthesia wererandomly allocated into four groups(n=40 in each group). After the occlusion of venous drainage, patients were pretreated with 7mL of 0.9%saline(control),5ml(50mg) of Flurbiprofen axetil and 2mL of 0.9% saline(FA group),2ml(40mg) of 2% lidocaine and 5ml of 0.9% saline(Lc group), and 5ml(50mg) of Flurbiprofen axetil and 2ml(40mg) of 2% lidocaine(Mixture group), respectively. The occlusion was released after 2 min and 0.5mg/Kg propofol was injected into the vein. During the injection of propofol, patients' pain was assessed and recorded as VSR.ResultsNo significant differences in the demographic characteristics were observed among the 4 groups. The overall incidence of pain on injection of propofol was 35% in the Mixture group,62.5% in the FA group,57.5% in the Lc group versus 90% in the control group(P<0.05). And there was a significant reduction in pain incidence in the mixture groups compared with the other three groups(P<0.05). The median pain score was significantly lower in the mixture group (0) compared with the other three groups(P<0.05), FA group(1), Lc group(1), and control group(2), respectively. And also, the incidence and severity of pain on injection of propofol were significantly less in the mixture group compared with the other three groups (all, P< 0.05). No AEs at the injection site were observed or reported. ConclusionsIn our study the mixture of Flurbiprofen axetil and lidocaine was found to be more effective in reducing pain on injection of propofol compared with each drug alone.
