1. To descripe the caregivers' reaction situation and the status of anxiety and depression of the caregivers of patients with lung cancer chemotherapy.2. To discuss the effects of some demographic characteristics, care contents on the caregivers'reaction and emontional state, such as depression and anxiety. In order to have a comprehensive understanding of the caregivers'reactions of patients with lung cancer chemotherapy, and provide a theoretical basis for nursing interventions.MeathodsUsing purpose sampling method, investigate the caregivers of patients with lung cancer chemotherapy at the First Hospital of China Medical University from the January 2009 to September 2009. Caregiver reaction assessment (CRA) is used to investigate the reactions of caregivers of patients with lung cancer chemotherapy. use the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD) to measured caregivers' mental health conditions. By comparing the differences of the dimensions of the CRA and the Anxiety and Depression score among different populations and multiple linear regression analysis to describe the status and the related factors.Results1. The caregivers'reactions of patients with lung cancer chemotherapy in descending order of the five dimension scores:Self-esteem(SE),Disrupted Schedule(DS), Financial Problem(FP), Health Problem(HP), Lack of Family Support(FS).2. The factor that affects caregivers'SE dimension scores is the relationship with patients; Factors that affect caregivers' HP and DS dimension scores are the relationship with patients, caregiver occupation and the contents of caregiving; Factors that affect caregivers'FP dimension scores are caregiver occupations, incomes, the relationships with patients and the period of Chemotherapy treatment; Factors that affect caregivers' FS dimension scores are caregiver incomes and whether someone to help.3. In the study,40.6% of the caregivers have anxiety and 51.2% of the caregivers there are depression. Factors that affect caregivers'anxiety and depression dimension scores are Caregiver occupation, the gender of caregivers, the relationship with patients and the contents of caregiving.Conclusions1. Caregivers get high scores in the Self-esteem dimension, indicating a lot positive effect has been obtained through care; the problems of disrupted schedule and financial problem are evident in caregivers of patients with lung cancer chemotherapy; though lower scores in health problem and lack of family support, it do exist. Factors that affect caregivers' reaction scores are the caregivers'gender, occupation, income, relationship with patients, the contents of caregiving, the period of chemotherapy treatment and whether someone to help.2. The caregivers of patients with lung cancer chemotherapy have severe anxiety and depression problems, more than half of the caregivers have Symptoms. Factors related the level of anxiety and depression including the gender of caregivers, caregiver occupations, the relationship with patients, the contents of caregiving, and so on.
