ObjectiveTo summarize the clinical characteristics and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of p rimary biliary cirrhosis (PBC)。MethodClinical data of 44 patients with PBC including the clinical manifestations, laboratory tests, pathological findings and the response to therapy were analyzed retrospectively。Results43 patients were females (43/44), and 1 was male(1/44). The median age at diagnosis was 53 years (range:37~77years). The most common symptoms were fatigue (20/44), followed by pruitus (4/44),a poor appetite(3/44), distension of the abdomen (3/44), the epigastrium ill (3/44), the symptomless because of other diseases discovering this sickness (2/44)。The main sign is enlarged spleen (22/44), followed by cirrhotic palms 13 cases (13/44), ascites 13 cases (13/44), spider nevus 6 cases (6/44), jaundice 20 cases (20/44), abdominal wall varicosity 2 cases (2/44), esophagus varicosity 9 cases (9/14)。In biochemistry target liver function is not in a normal range primarily, total bile acid (TBA), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) andy-glutamyl transferase(y-GT) levels were obviously elevated in most patients respectively, P<0.05; In the immunology targets immunoglobulin M,G (IgM, IgG) average levels were higher than the normal range, P<0.05; In the immunology targets the Anti-nuclear antibody was positive in 35 of 44 patients (35/44), Anti-mitochondrial antibody (AMA) was positive in 25 of 29 patients.AMA-M2 was positive in 18 of 30 patients, AMA-M 4 was positive in 11 of 28 patients.AMA-M9 was positive in 2 of 28 patients.16 patients underwent pathological examination, with (7/16) in early stage (stageⅠ~Ⅱ) and (5/16) in advanced stage(stageⅢ~Ⅳ).26 patients undertook the conventional therapy with ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA),and the improvement rate was 19%(5/26).ConculationThe research shows that primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC) patients see in 40 year-old above old age female, the early diagnosis is difficult, and it has a bad prognosis.
