With the acceleration of an aging society, death caused by cerebral vascular disease is up to the second in a variety of diseases. Elderly people is the main risk groups of stroke, and in the condition of certain risk factors, the risk of CVD will be very high. The characteristics of the elderly people who are involved in CVD have its own feature, that's high incidence, high recurrence rate, high mortality rate and high rate of disability. Because of the improvement of emergency conditions and the progression of the basic and clinical research, about 85% of the patients could survive, however, about 50-70% of the survivers will have their own dysfunctions. The partial or complete loss of function make the patients can not return to their normal life and work, that also give heavy burden on families and society. So effective treatment in reducing mortality, morbidity and improve prognosis, recovery is essential in the early stage, that's also the research focus of scholars. The main purpose of the treatment in the acute stage of CVD is to improve the circulation of the vessels, resore the blood flow, reduce the neurological deficit induced by CVD. Although lots of clinical and bascal researches are processed, and some encouraging results are also achieved, but effective treatments being proved are not so much, particularly in the functional recovery after stroke. In this medical context, how to improve the quality of patient's life is the main challenge that every rehabilitation workers must be confront with. Objective:This study focused on patients in hospital. Two different ways(including Rood technology and Medium frequency electrical stimulation)were applied to the patients with the upper limb motor dysfunction in the early stage. Try to find out the comparison of the efficacy differences between the two and the reasons which caused the differences, which maybe have clinical significance.Methods:90 patients who were in the early stage of cerebral infarction with the right upper limb motor dysfunction were sclected between 2009-03-25 to 2009-08-15 in the Neurology department of our hospital, including male 46 cases, female 44 cases. between the ages of 65-73 years old, the average age was 70.65±2.79 years old. Three groups were ready in random. In the basis of conventional treatment, one group was treated with Rood technology, the other with Medium frequency electrical stimulation, the third one with blank treatment. The score were measured with Fugl-Meyer system before and after the treatment. Results:(1) General information on three groups of patients compared the difference was not significant. (P<0.05).(2) The FMA score of the three groups do not have statistical differences before treatment. (P<0.05).(3) The result show that the Fugl-Meyer index of the treatment groups(Medium frequency electrical stimulation group:48.00±3.54 and Rood group:42.67±3.67) have made disparity than the blank group (39.54±3.84). (P<0.05).(4) The Fugl-Meyer index of the Medium frequency electrical stimulation group(48.00±3.54) has made disparity than Rood technology group(42.67±3.67). (P<0.05).Conclutions:(1) Clinical rehabilitation therapy can be used in the patients of CI if the vital signs are stable, consciousness is clear, Signs within the nervous system is no longer in progress in 24-48h. It can increase the recovery degree of hemiplegia, reduce the degree of invalidity, increase the quality of life and laid a good foundation for further treatment.(2) Patients of CI in the early stage(Starting from the onset to 7-10 days), medium frequency electrical stimulation is good for the recovery of function.(3) Patients of CI in the early stage(Starting from the onset to 7-10 days), using of Rood technology is good for the recovery of function. (4) Comparatively, the treatment of Medium frequency electrical stimulation is better than the treatment of Rood technology in the early stage.
