Object: to determined the correlation factor of cognition functional impairment in the patients suffering acute basal ganalla cerebral hemorrhage. Methods: we adminstered patients suffering acute basal ganalla cerebral hemorrhage in the departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Rehabilitation of First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from June 2008 to December 2009.Assembled patients'datas included age, gender, education, blood lipid, blood pressure, blood sugar, the performment of head CT or MRI,surgery, hemorrhages with rupture into the ventricular system, hematoma size, lesion side and asymptomatic ischemic brain lesions, then evaluated patients'neural missing degree ,depression and cognitive function, with NISHH,HAMD and MOCA respectively 2 or 3 weeks after onesets .Result: a total of 103 patients enrolled into this study, univariate analysis excluded the factors of gender, blood lipid, blood pressure, surgery, hemorrhages with rupture into the ventricular system, asymptomatic ischemic brain lesions (p>0.05)..Then,multivariate analysis indicated that, education(B=0.418,p=0.000), hematoma size(B=-1.380,p=0.005), blood sugar (B=-1.380,p=0.005), neural missing degree (B=-0.296,p=0.010) and depression (B=-0.072,p=0.022) were ascribed to cognition functional impairment. Age and lesion side affected cognition function not significantly. Conclusion: basal ganglia cerebral hemorrhage patients commonly associated with cognitive impairment, correlating with education, hematoma size, blood sugar, neural missing degree and depression.
