Objecttive To survey the clinical epidemiology and correlations between pathology and clinical features of a major groups of kidney diseases. To survey the variation of pathology of kidney diseases between 1994 and 2009.Methods To retrospectively summarize the clinico-pathological date in 3035 cases having underwent renal biopsy. To survey variation of pathology of kidney diseases regard two years as the unit, the cases from January 1994 to December 2001 and the cases from January 2002 to December 2009 were enrolled in this study, their clinical and pathological data were contrasting analyzed..Results The average age at renal biopsy was 34.1±14.787(9-83)years old in 3035 patients with renal diseases, and the ratio of male to female was 1.03:1. Primary glomerular diseases (PGD) accounted for 72.29%, secondary glomerulonephritis (SGN) for (25.04%).among them endstage renaldisease (ESRD)for7.58%. The PGD in descending order of incidence were mesangial proliferativeglomerulonephritis(MsPGN,39.29%),IgA nephropathy(21.56%).and GML/MCD nephropathy (13.40%). The SGN in descending order of incidence were lupus nephritis (69.47%), purpura nephritis (6.18%), renal vasculitis (5.66%). the clinical manifestations of 3035 cases were classified as nephritic syndrome (61.71%),chronic glomerulonephritis(25.38%). An increment of prevalence was found in IgA nephropathy, membranous nephropathy (MN)(P<0.05). An decrement of prevalence was found in mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis (P<0.05); Vasculitis Amyloidosis myeloma nephropathy were always diagnosed recently 6 years(2004-2009) and there were an increment of prevalence in Vasculitis Amyloidosis myeloma nephropathy. To survey the proportion of Primary glomerular diseases (PGD) and secondary glomerulonephritis (SGN), primary glomerular diseases decreased from 77.16 % to 70.91%,while secondary renal diseases increased, vasculitis, amyloidosis, myeloma nephropathy were diagnosed newly, the proportion of vasculitis increased obviously (P<0.001),but lupus nephritis (decreasing from 77.1% to 67.89%,P<0.05).Conclusion In the groups of kidney diseases of our area, renal diseases often happen in young peop le. PGD is a dominating type in which MsPGN is the most common, but the proportion of MsPGN was decreasing and IgAN,MN was increasing.Primary glomerular diseases decreased, while secondary renal diseases increased. In the SGN, lupus nephritis is dominant, an increment of percentage was found in other SGN. Similar pathological change of PGD may manifest various clinical profile, vice versa.
