Background:As a group with a high incidence, complications and hazards of various organs of the body syndrome, obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) has gained more and more attention from the clinicians and patients. With our knowledge and research on OSAHS deepening, more and more research papers have been published. Because so many sections and research contents are involved, it is necessary to do the statistical analysis and analyze the current situation in order to clarify the ideas and clear the direction for the future reseach. Objective:To realize the latest advance and development status of the subject, and also find the imperfection to give the future study help and guidance. Methods:Selected all the related papers about obstructive sleepapnea-hypopnea syndrom (OSAHS)which were enlisted in National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) from January to December in 2009. Selected the literature review which came from the core journals, and deleted the literature review, review journals and case reports, screened out the treatises. Number of teatises, type of journals, treatises categorization, and treatment etc were analyzed statistically.Results:1. There were 571 papers about OSAHS were enlisted in CKNI, and 132 teatises were enlisted by core Chinese journals in 2009.2. About 40% teatises were enlisted by important Chinese journals, such asandect.3. A lot of research papers on OSAHS has been published in 25 provincial administrative regions of China and most of the papers are from the economically developed coastal regions, such as Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Beijing, Hebei. However, there are some excellent work in central and western regions, including Hubei, Hunan and Xinjiang.4. Most of the reference authors are from department of ENT, respiratory diseases and cardiology, and it takes up about 68.70%. Some hospitals set up Sleep Research Centers specialized in respiratory diseases.5. Most of the reference authors who published the research papers on OSAHS in Chinese journals in 2009 are from affiliated hospital of universities, occupied 55.73%. There are also some papers form provincial, city and military hospitals published in key journals.6. The papers study based largely on adults and children, but there are less on animals, cells and other basic subjects.7. In 2009, the research contents on OSAHS are rich, including epidemiological studies, pathogenesis and etiology, diagnosis and clinical assessment of disease severity, treatment of complications and the complications of target organ damage and other factors.Conclusion:1. At present the diagnosis and treatment on OSAHS in different regions are in different levels; central and western regions are weaker, but the whole country on the diagnosis and treatment of OSAHS is in the rapidly increasing.2. In recent researches, the cooperation in various areas of clinical departments is narrow and low-level.3. There is progress in the basic research but it is still weak.4. Much has been achieved in epidemiological studies, but less ones have clear guidance. As a result, the standard of OSAHS has to be set by the foreign current standard and it lacks specificity for people.5. The researches on the pathogenesis are wholly lack of creativity and the thinking pattern is fixed.6. The observation time on the treatment of OSAHS is short and less evaluation of disease on the treatment of long-term effects. More researches are on the efficacy of the treatment but less on the safety evaluation of complications.7. In all, the researches are small sample and distribution of a single region. It is lack of the comprehensive study with large scale and multi-centre.
