Objective: To research a series clinical cases of intertrochanteric fracture which aretreated with Proximal Femoral Nail Anti-rotation(PFNA),get the date of blood volumeand Hb before and after the operation. Hoping to improve the realization of thissurgical treatment. Methods: The medical records of 88 patients treated in the last 6 years were reviewed, and in which we find 27 records match the requirement . In addition, a literaturereview with regard to treatment and clinical outcome was performed. Results: 27 patients, 6men and 21 women aging from 59 to 94 years, with the average76.6 years. The average operation time is 71.67min,the average hemorrhage volumerecorded during the operation is 128ml.The average HCT before the operation is34.42 and HCT after is 28.17,which changed 6.62; The average Hb before theoperation is 119.22 g/L and Hb after is97.7 g/L, which changed 21.52 g/L. By theGross formula we get the total blood loss in peroperative period is 702.5ml inaverage. Conclusion: The PFNA treatment used in eld patient with Intertrochanteric Fracture getmuch more blood loss in Peroperative Period than intraoperative blood loss. Thevariance of Hb and HCT by which can get the total blood loss in peroperative periodshould be paid more attention.
