Needs scores were significant different from marital status, unmarried family members of the group was higher than the needs of the married group. The extent of needs satisfaction was related with families' understanding of needs importance. The extent of needs satisfaction was significant different from families' health status, poor health group to meet the needs was less.4.We aslo found other needs by open questionnare, such as good service attitude, lower medical expenture, good environment and to increase the amount of heath care resources.Conclusion1.Emergent family members of critically ill patients, the most important needs is the "assurance", "to have questions answered honestly" is on top of the list. The extent to meet the needs of families and family members on the importance of understanding the needs are basically the same.2.The level of needs satisfaction was low. That meant emergency nurses should pay more attention to families' needs and provide more care to satisfy families' needs actively in order to improve the service quality and increase the families' satisfaction to emergency nursing service.3.Comfort was considered by families more important than support. So, the findings suggest that the hospital administrators should improve the hospital environment and equip the hospital with enough manpower and material resources to form humanlity management and service.
