Objective Through investigating the information of the investigated areas medical services in rural clinics and rural medical practitioners at the scene, to monitor the situation on the health care service provide and utilization, to evaluate the trends of rural residents'out-patient services utilization at village-level, to explore the relationship between the rural doctors and health care provide. Materials and methods The survey include the 1997~2006 out-patient prescriptions and registers of 55 village clinics 72 doctors in investigated four township areas, Investigated Agency information at the scene to collect and extract village health clinic patients in out-patient registration information and treatment of rural doctors. We collected the registration of rural doctors in County Health Department. There were questionnaires and telephone surveys on the village doctors of investigated areas to understand the basic situation of the village doctors. Results (1)In the out-patient constitute under 25 years male were more than women, 25 to 54-year-old female ratio more than male, women's constitute drop in attendance. (2) The proportion of olders more than 55 years increased attendance, the patients under the age of 5, 25 ~ 34-year-old declined in the proportion. (3) respiratory diseases, digestive system diseases, skin and subcutaneous tissue diseases, circulatory diseases, injury and poisoning in the village is located the top five in out-patient treatment of rural residents disease constitute. (4) At village-level female reproductive system diseases constitute was more than men in out-patient constitute. (5) In high-age group the proportion of circulatory system diseases was on the rise. (6) The antibiotics, hormones in the body with the use of village outpatient visits had a higher proportion, respectively 45% and 10%. The number of Chinese traditional medicine prescriptions declined year-by-year, there was an increase in the application of Traditional Chinese patent medicines. (7) The proportion of out-patient drugs increased, antibiotics combined with highlights. (8)The average cost of prescription leaflets maked upward trend overall. There are related external factors between average cost of prescription and the patient sex.age and so on. (9) In investigated rural areas female doctors decreased, the age larger, the overall quality lower, the rural doctors'work time, availability of training and prescription costs are related; the rural doctors'availability of training is related with the use of antibiotics in high proportion. Conclusion The view that institutions should strengthen primary health care information management and the building of rural doctors, emphasis on the health of special groups to carry out monitoring, strengthening the village health medication management, to promote the rational and safe drug.
