Objective: To probe into clinical value of acupuncture therapy mainly with Du-meridian for treatment of acute cerebral infarction. Methods: The selected 68 patients were divided into 3 groups, 24 cases into treatment group I (conventional medicine adding acupuncture mainly on Du-meridian therapy once daily) , 21 cases into treatment group II (conventional medicine adding acupuncture mainly on Yang-Ming meridian therapy once daily) and 23 cases into the control group (conven- tional medicine therapy simply). We assess the clinical effect by scores of the Modif- ied-Edinburgh Scandinavian Stroke Scale, Activity of Daily Livi- ng Scale (Barthel Index) and Fugl-Meyer motor function evaluation method after treatment(a fifteen d- ay followed-up time). Results: The baselines of the general date were no different among the three groups. The total effective rate was 83.33% in treatment group I, 66.67% in treatment group II ,and 52.17% in the control group, respectively, treatment group I being better than the other two groups(P<0.05);after treatment, scores of neurological function impairments assessment, Barthel Index and Fugl-Meyer Motor Function Assessment were obviously improved (P<0.05), and the group I's improvement is more obvious than group II, so as the group II 's than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusions: Treating acute cerebral infarction patients accompany with acupuncture is more effective than simply with medicine, and acupuncture mainly on Du-meridian is more effective than the traditional acupuncture method.
