Objective: To evaluate the clinical effect of combined Nd:YAG Laser with annular Silicone intubation for obstruction of Lacrimal passage with various causes. Methods: nity patients (94 eyes) underwent lacrimal puncta expansion with topical anesthesia. Lacrimal duct probe with needle core was used to find the obstructive site. Then the probe was pulled out and ND:YAG laser illuminating fiber was inserted to the obstructive site, and then lasing was used to clean the obstruction. A new nasal lacrimal drainage device which consists of a metallic probe on both ends and a soft silicone tube in the middle. The probes of the device were in serted from superior and inferior punctum into the lacrimal duct under a topical anesthesia, then the ends of the device were extracted in the nasal cavity with the aid of an endoscope. The mean follow up was 6 months or more than , recovery of function of lacrimal passage was followed up and the therapentic effects were compared among the groups. Results: The curative rates and effective rates of the five groups were 94.59% and 5.41%,90.00% and 10.00%,90.48% and 9.52%,81.82% and 9.09%,60.00% and 20.00% respevtively. The therapeutic effect on the chronic dacrystitis is less than on those the groups. Conclusion: Combination of ND:YAG laser and annular Silicone tube is an effective method for the treatment of lacrimal duct occlusion, and it should be generalized in clinic.
