The Expression And Significance Of Ezrin In Endometriosis

Objective:To investigate the expression of ezrin in endometriosis for exploring the role of ezrin in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.Methods:Immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR were used to detect the expression of ezrin in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium from 30 cases with endometriosis(eutopic endometrium group and ectopic endometrium group) and in the normal endometrium of 20 cases without endometriosis(control group).Results:The expression of ezrin in ectopic and eutopic endometrium group was high positive,and it was puny in control group;more over,the distribution of ezrin in subcellular localization are different.The ezrin protein and ezrinmRNA in ectopic endometrium group was significantly higher than that in eutopic endometrium group and control group;the ezrin protein and ezrinmRNA in eutopic endometrium group was significantly higher than that in control group;the expression of ezrin protein and mRNA in proliferative phase was significantly higher than secretory phase in eutopic group,but not in the control group;and there was no difference between the different stages.Conclusions:1 The up regulation of ezrin in endometriosis suggestes that ezrin may play a role in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.2 The expression of ezrin had relationship with the menstrual cycle in EMs.3 The expression of ezrin had no relationship with the clinical stages.
