Therapeutic Effects Of Tandospirone On Patients With ACS And Anxiety/Depression

Objective:To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of tandospirone on patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS) and anxiety/depression.Method:The patients with ACS and anxiety/depression(n=94) were randomly assigned to two groups:treatment(n=47) or placebo(n=47) group.All subjects in both groups received conventional therapy for ACS. The patients in treatment group were given Tandospirone,10mg tid for 1 month;while ones in control group received placebo.HAMD and HAMA scores were measured before and after treatment in all subjects.Severe cardiac events were observed during the treatment,and also Holter ECG monitoring,blood routine exam,liver and renal function test were examed after treatment in both groups.Results:1.The HAMD and HAMA scores in treatment group after treatment were significantly decreased than before treatment(P<0.05); and compared with control group after 1 month's treatment,the HAMD and HAMA scores in treatment group were significantly reduced (P<0.01).2.The incidence of cardiovascular events in treatment group was 2.1%,while 21.2%in control group during follow-up,which had a statistical significance(χ~2=3.87,P<0.05);the depressed ST-segment and ventricular arrhythmia in both groups were well-controlled after treatment (P<0.05),while treatment group showed to be improved more than the control(P<0.05).3.No severe side effects of the drug were found in treatment group.Conclusions:1.Based on conventional therapy,anti -anxiety/anti-depressant drugs such as tandospirone might be useful to correct negative emotions such as anxiety and depression,reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events,and to improve the prognosis in the patients with ACS and anxiety/depression.2.Tandospirone has a double effect of anti-anxiety and anti-depression,which is a good choice for the patients with ACS and anxiety/depression.
