Objective :By doing observation anatomy and blood vessel cast for Maxillofacial region,Which supplies the reference of applied anatomy for plastic operation of Maxillofacial region. Explore to build visualization digital method of Maxillofacial region's blood vessel, and do the study for 3-D visualization of Maxillofacial region's arteries and their adjacent relation.Materials and Methods:1.Observation anatomy: antisepsis fixation and by way of common carotid artery filling emulsion stuffing deal with 6 specimens of healthy adult cephal-neck region. vivisect bit by bit from shallow to deep and the route is from mandible's inferior border to tragus's anterior border and to back of nose. Then observe and record the initiation of tube diameter, path, branch, distribution condition of maxillofacial region's blood vessel, and take photos for correlative structures.2.Cast of blood vessel: three fresh healthy adult cephal-neck region's specimen is filling with red perchloroethylene stuffing by common carotid artery. After it corrode, observe the source, path, branch, distribution and anastomosis condition of maxillofacial region's blood vessel. Take photos at the same time.3.Blood ??el's opacification and 3-D reconstruction: three fresh adult cephal-neck region's specimens, scan with CT before perfusion ,after filling constrast medium of gelatin-lead oxide by common carotid artery, scan continuously with CT, and export dates by DICOM format and import Mimics software. Then go on the 3-D image reconstruction and visualization display by the Shaded Surface Display(SSD)to bones and Maxillofacial region's blood vessel and adumbration。 Results:1.The characteristic of anatomy of maxillofacial region's blood vessel: (1)Facial artery mainly provide buccal division, labial part and mental region. Its initiation is constant, but its path, distribution, end are variable. The initiation of facial artery's outer diameter is about 2.3±0.4 mm. Its appearance rate is 100%. (2)Mental artery is the constant branch of facial artery, the outer diameter of its initiation is about 1.8±0.6 mm, and its appearance rate is 100%. (3)The outer diameter of inferior labial artery's initiation is about 1.2±0.4 mm, and its appearance rate is 75%. (4)The initiation of superior labial artery is relative constant, and its outer diameter is about 1.3±0.3 mm. Its appearance rate is 96.8%. (5)The outer diameter of nasal wing inferior border artery's initiation is about 1.0±0.3 mm, and its appearance rate is 83.3%. (6)The outer diameter of nasal wing artery's initiation is about 0.6±0.2 mm, and its appearance rate is 91.67%.(7)The outer diameter of nasal artery's initiation is about 0.9±0.2 mm, and its appearance rate is 91.67%.(8)The outer diameter of angular artery's initiation is about 0.6±0.2 mm, and its appearance rate is 66.67%.(9)Th??ter diameter of facial artery's masseter branches'initiation is about 1.2±0.2 mm, and its appearance rate is 50.0%. (10)The outer diameter of dorsalnasal artery's initiation is about 0.8±0.3 mm, and its appearance rate is 58.33%.(11)The outer diameter of infraorbital artery's initiation coming from infra-orbital foramen is about 1.0±0.2 mm, and its appearance rate is 100%.(12)The outer diameter of transverse facial artery's initiation is about 1.8±0.5 mm, and its appearance rate is 100%.(13)The outer diameter of zygomaticoorbital artery's initiation is about 1.0±0.3 mm, and its appearance rate is 100%.(14)The outer diameter of supraorbital artery's initiation coming from super-orbital foramen is about 1.0±0.2 mm, and its appearance rate is 100%. (15)The outer diameter of supratrochlear artery's initiation is about 1.3±0.3 mm, and its appearance rate is 100%.2.The show characteristic of different research methods(1).Observation anatomy:After common perfusion,the blood vessel is fresh,and their path are clear.Besides,theoperation is simple,and is easy to observation the branch distribution and the outer diameter of blood vessel.(2).Cast form of blood vessel: the maxillofacial region's blood vessels are slender and dense. The tube's repletion, thick or thin, dense or lank is rational. The arteries are showed integrally. The specimens are beautiful and color is vivid and the spatial feeling is very strong.(3).The 3-D reconstruction: by using the Mimics software, the reconstruction about Maxillofacial region's main arteries of 3-D visualization models can vividly embody the spatial location of maxillofacial region's blood vessel, and the neighbor relation of surrounding tissues, and can revolve randomly in each direction,and can do the cutting or part display according to the demand.Conclusion:1.Study systemly of Maxillofacial region's arteries with three methods of emulsion perfusion,cast of blood vessel,blood vessel's opacification with gelatin-lead oxide and 3-D reconstruction,the results of which supply the reference of applied anatomy for plastic operation of Maxillofacial region.2.The three methods of emulsion perfusion,cast of blood vessel,blood vessel's opacification with gelatin-lead oxide and 3-D reconstruction all can show clearly Maxillofac??region's artery,but each of them has different characteristic.Amony which,blood vessel's opacification with gelatin-lead oxide and 3-D reconstruction of Maxillofacial region's 3-D visualization models supply useful method for anaplasty of Maxillofacial region's operational access,pre-surgical plan and basal anatomical teaching ,etc,which has a quite extensive prospect.
