Primary Evaluation Of Discipline's Current Status And General Development Strategy In A Hospital

With the Chinese hospital disciplines' development and the rising status of disciplines construction in the hospital,the objective analysis of the current disciplines situation has been widely focused.Discipline is the basic component of a hospital,especial to the tertiary health care institution.Also,it is the organic joint point of medicine,education,scientific research and management.The construct of the hospital discipline has already showed its dominant place of leading the trend of hospital development.There are 36 clinical disciplines in the hospital.Among these,some are main disciplines which show their powerful strength and take the leading position.Some of them have problems and crisis which demand the director of respective disciplines and the hospital to make efforts together and find the problems as well as solve them.Some of them have certain potential fast development and have opportunities to be upgraded to the first class of disciplines.Some are in the slow motion or moving stagnantly or even degrading.As a famous hospital attached to a famous university,it has been crucial issue to analyze all disciplines into different development patterns thoroughly and reasonably.This thesis aims at establishing an appropriate hospital based scientific evaluation system analyzing the recent 5 years disciplines development by the evaluation system.On the basis of existing disciplines' analysis,it will facilitate to have a good and understanding of the hospital,and identify the issues of discipline development,it tries to provide the hospital with a strategy reference in next stage of how to optimize the discipline layout and to deepen the talents cultivation.Based on the literature review and experts' consultation,this paper conducted a survey for developing a discipline evaluation system which took 3 round of Delphi method and 29 experts were involved in.Initially,it builds an evaluation system of hospital disciplines and establishes the index weight via analytic hierarchy process. There are four dimensions in the hospital discipline evaluation system,including discipline's team,academic level,discipline's medical,education and science and research situation and working condition.There are 10 second-grade index and 23 third-grade index.According to the evaluation system,experts made scores for 36 clinical disciplines.From the ranking of total scores,the paper finds that talents nurturing,outputs of science and research and platform of science and lab are needed to be enhanced.Some of the directors didn't realize the importance of disciplines' building.There are certain potential crises in the existing leading disciplines.Also some disciplines are lack of the top talent and the resources distributions are unbalanced.All these have becoming more and more clear.As a famous general hospital attached to a university,the strategy of the hospital should do something and avoid something.The priority development measures are as follows:to set up talents reserve,to improve the recruit system and training mode,to increase the research clinical doctors,to build a fair and scientific evaluation system and public platform,to form a precise evaluation system.The science development planning is not only based on the hospital feature but also meeting the society requirements.There are several developing strategies proposed:to promote the talent nurturing and team building by large disciplines comprehensives advantages,to facilitate disciplines development by the top leading director,to promote science development by the key point breakthrough,to create disciplines brand development by teaching activities.Those strategies and measures would have a dominant direction to the disciplines development and provide a good environment for disciplines.
