Objective:To study the characteristics of the patients with IUD induced bleeding side-effect by clinical epidemiological survey and extract the correlated syndrome elements and their dialectic combining rules to conclude a diagnostic criteria. Methods: A unified research table was designed and a questionnaire was conducted in the patients with IUD induced bleeding side effect. The clinical data was analyzed with statistical methods to explore the distribution pattern of syndromes and characteristics of syndrome differentiation. Results:1.After statistical analysis ,we come up with the following results:①The peak age of IUD reduced bleeding side-effect is 30-40 years old.②The majority of the patients hold a high school certificate or higher academic certificate.③The abnormal bleeding usually occurs one year after the placement of IUD,especially 6 months after the placement.④The occurrence rate in patients with three or more pregnancies is higher than those with less pregnancies.⑤The major symptoms of the bleeding side effect are prolonged menstruation (>7 days≤15 days), profuse menstruation (more than her normal amount),dark reddish menstruation with blood clots.⑥Among the 5 common syndromes, combination of stasis and heat is the most commonly encountered.⑦The occurrence of prolonged menstruation(11-15 days) showed no significant difference among the 5 syndromes.⑧The occurrence of profuse menstruation with the amount increases by 1/3 showed no significant difference among the 5 syndromes.2.The main symptoms that are statistically valuable to syndrome diagnosis were obtained by Logistic regression analysis to conclude a diagnostic criteria. Conclusions :1.8 major characteristics of the IUD induced bleeding side-effect were concluded. 2. Logistic regression analysis is helpful in basic syndrome diagnosis of TCM.3. To conduct the clinical epidemiological survey on the IUD induced bleeding side-effect at present is meaningful.
