| Objective:Pruritus of the elders is a common disease in clinic.Oral antihistamine and hormone ointment for external application are used in western medicine,but it has side-effects such as lethargy,atrophy of skin and dilatation of capillary.Traditional medicine has the advantages of better curative effects and fewer side-effects.The objective is to explore the therapeutic mechanism of "dangguiyinzi" which has the effects of wind-expelling,blood-nourishing,heat-clearing and dampness-removing dryness by clinic observation.Method:The patients with Pruritus of the elders were randomly divided into two groups.One group(30patients)was treated with "dangguiyinzi" orally,the other group was taken "diluleitading" orally.The therapy last for 4 weeks and the effect was observed each week.Result:The total effective of the group received "dangguiyinzi" was93.33%,the total rate of the comparision group was80.00%.There was significant difference in the total effective rate between the two groups。The healing rate and the effective of the group received "dangguiyinzi" was60.00%.The healingrate and the effective rate of the group was 33.33%. There was significant difference in the healing rate and the effective rate between the two groups.Conclusion:It is conclude that the treatment of "dangguiyinzi" has a satisfying curative effect.There is relativety between aging and senial prurits.
