The Study Of The Relevance Of BRCA1 And Breast Fibroadenomas

PurposeBreast cancer susceptibility gene 1(BRCA1)is a kind of tumor suppressor gene.The abnormal expression of BRCA1 is associated with familial breast cancer and ovarian cancer.In the past many studies was foucs on the role of BRCA1 in the occurrence and development of breast cancer,but in the domestic and international,the role of BRCA1 in the occurrence and development of breast fibroadenoma is not clear.This study is to exame the expression of BRCA1 in the breast fibroadenoma and probe the relationship between the BRCA1 and the occurrence of development breast fibroadenoma.Materials and MethodsThe expression of BRCA1 of tissues taken from 42 breast fibroadenoma patients(20 with family history of breast cancer)and 21 normal breast tissue patients were examined using immunohistochemical SABC method.Datas were analyzed by SPSS software.ResultsThe expression of BRCA1 was 28 patients(66.7%)in breast fibroadenoma and 35 patients(85.4%)in normal breast tissue,the expression difference was significant(P=0.046).The expression of BRCA1 was 11 patients(55%)in breast fibroadenoma with family history of breast cancer,18 patients(86.3%)in breast fibroadenoma without family history of breast cancer.The expression of BRCA1 in breast fibroadenoma with family history of breast cancer is lower than that in without family history of breast cancer,the expression difference was significant(P=0.025); the expression of BRCA1 in BF(FHBC+)is lower than that in normal breast tissue the expression difference was significant(P=0.01);the expression difference between breast fibroadenoma without family history of breast cancer and normal BT was not significant(P=0.914).ConclusionThe abnormal expression of BRCA1 were related to breast fibroadenoma with family history of breast cancer,and not to without family history of breast cancer.
