| Objective:1 We explore the relation of the severity of chronic heart failure (CHF) and the changes of serum thyroid hormone levels. We search indexes to determine the severity of CHF, and to evaluate the experimental treatment of CHF. 2 We want to observe the effect of Jiawei shenfu keli in treating CHF with low T3 syndrome and to explore its principles.Methods: We collected 148 cases with CHF, 73 cases were cardiac functionâ…¡grade, 55 cases were III grade, 20 cases wereâ…£grade . We measured their serum FT3, FT4, TSH. In addition, We selected 30 cases of healthy people to measure the serum FT3, FT4, TSH and control CHF patients.We selected 51 cases with CHF with low T3 syndrome, cardiac functionâ…¡,â…¢class, TCM is heart kidney yang deficiency. They were divided into treatment group (26 cases) and control group(25 cases) by random number table. Control group were treated with conventional western medicine. Treatment group were treated with western medicine of the same, in addition , taking Jiawei shenfu keli, two times a day, every time a pack. The course of two group were all 30 days. Observed their symptoms and serum thyroid hormone before and after treatment.Serum thyroid hormones were measured with radiommunoassy.Results: Compared with the healthy group, the serum FT3 of patients with CHF is lower, P<0. 05. FT4, TSH levels are normal. The condition of CHF is more severe, the level of FT3 is more lower, P<0.05. After treatment, with improvement in cardiac function, the low T3 syndrome has improved, FT3 levels increased. More obvious improvement in the treatment group, P<0. 05.Conclusion: The serum thyroid hormones changes exist in CHF patients, its degree is related to the severity of heart failure. The condition of CHF is more severe, the level of FT3 is more lower. The treatment group is better to improve CHF with low T3 syndrome, which suggests jiawei shenfu keli role in neuroendocrine regulation.
