Objective:To detect the percentage of glycosylated ferritin(GF) in serum ferritin(SF) in patients with adult onset Still's disease(AOSD), analyze the relevance between percentage of GF in SF and activity indexes of AOSD and evaluate the clinical significances. Methods: The subjects were divided into two groups:AOSD group (active and remissive AOSD respectively 20), non AOSD group (Rheumatoid Arthritis and systemic lupus eythematosus respectively 24). The observational indexs of AOSD are erythra, pharyngalgia, arthritis, lymphadenectasis, splenohepatomegalia, white blood cell(WBC), hemoglobin(Hb), hemoglobin (PLT), alanine transarninase (ALT), glutamic-oxal(o) acetic transaminase (AST), serum ferritin(SF),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR)and C-reactive protein(CRP). The percentages of GF in SF were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), and analyzed the relevances between percentage of GF in SF and observational indexes of AOSD. at the same time,15 patients in active AOSD were taked by own controlling before and after treatment. Results:the percentage of GF in SF in AOSD group was significantly decreased compared with the percentage in non AOSD group(P<0.05). No notable difference was found in the percentage between active AOSD and remissive AOSD, RA and SLE (P>0.05).There was negative correlation between the percentage of GF in SF and age, pathogenesis, arthritis of patients with AOSD,but no obvious correlation with the other observational indexs. After treatment for 1~2 months in 15 patients with active AOSD,indicators of AOSD activity were significantly improved comparing with before treatment ,but the percentage of GF in SF was not notable difference(P>0.05).Conclution: The percentage of GF in SF in AOSD groups were significantly decreased compared with the other groups,it indicate that GF may be involved in the occurrence and development of AOSD. No notable difference was found in the percentage between active AOSD group and remissive AOSD group, and percentage of GF in active AOSD was also no obvious variance after treatment,so the percentage of GF could not reflect activity of AOSD,it's decrease may be remaining throughout the course of AOSD,and respectively has diagnostic meaning for active AOSD, remissive AOSD,before or after treatmented AOSD. There was negative correlation between percentage of GF and arthralgia in AOSD,which is indicade that the percentage of GF would predict the destruction of joint in AOSD.
