Objectives This study is aim to establish the norms of dental model on normal occlusion in Han race of Chinese adult,reveal the characteristics of dental model, compare with different sexual and racial population and provides the reference for diagnoses in orthodontics.Methods 42 cases of normal occlusion dental model of Han race of Chinese adult(20 males and 22 females) were selected.The width of crown,the width and length of the dental arch,the basal arch width and length were measured.The Bolton index,Pont index,and Howes value were figured out.Correlation analyses of some norms were calculated.The measurements were analyzed with statistic methods and compared with that of different groups,meanwhile,the value of Bolton index and Pont index in clinic were eval uated.Desgined a program Han race of Chinese to output customized dental arch with Matlab 7.0.Result 1.The norms of dental model on normal occlusion in China adults are established.2.The Bolton index,Pont index,and Howes value of Han race of Chinese adult are established.3.Establish the system of customized dental arch in Han race of Chinese adult.Conclusion 1.The crown,dental arch and basal arch are different in sex.2.The Pont index is different in sex.Racial difference should be paid more attention.3.Statistically significant correlations between the crowns width of front teeth in maxillary and mandibular could be established,so do the crowns width of the whole teeth.The crowns width of front teeth or the whole teeth in maxillary and mandibular is highly correlated with the dental arch.The crowns width of front teeth or the middle and back dental arch in maxillary are markedly correlated with basal arch.4.The system of customized dental arch can instruct the clinical therapy.
