Clinical Research On Congestive Heart Failure Treated For The Aged With Peitu Yangxin Decoction

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Peitu Yangxin Decoction on Heart deficiency, qi and blood deficiencies in elderly people with chronic congestive heart failure symptoms, to explore its mechanism. Methods: 62 inpatients of CHF with cardiac function (NYHA) of gradeⅡ～Ⅳwere chosen randomly,and divided into treatment group (n=32) and control group (n=30). The treatment group was treated with Peitu Yangxin Decoction and western medicine, while the control group was only treated with western medicine. Four weeks' later, we observed the effect on the patients. Results: The total effective rate was 87.50% in treatment group and 60.39% in control group; the treatment group showed better effects than that in control group (P<0.05), as well as in alleviating symptoms of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)and cardiac function (P<0.01). Two groups could both improve the Brain natriuretic peptide, the results of the 6-min walk test and the hemorheological parameters. Conclusion: The treatment group could not only strengthen the cardiac function and symptoms of TCM, but could enhance exercise performance and reduce hemorheological. This experiment shows that TCM in the treatment of heart failure dialectical argumentation role.
