Objective: Confirming to the diagnosis and treatment characteristic of shen diseases of Chinese medicine with the help of the statistics on the first-hand clinical record. Methods:. Based on medical records database: (1) Extraction symptom unit and its clinical characteristic; (2) Refering to the authoritative documents, the name of Chinese medicine shen disease syndromes had been standardized ; (3) Clinical description of symptom unit had been extracted and given the name and definition; (4) Using frequency analysis and non-condition logistic multi-dimensional stepwise regression to choose the characteristic symptom group and herbal medicines of Shen disease; (5) According to the Chinese medicine theory to analysis the statistical result. Results: (1) 7 Common syndromes of the Shen disease were obtained, they are Shen-qi Deficiency, Shen-yang Deficiency, Shen-jing Deficiency, Shen-yin Deficiency, Shen-yin and yang Deficiency, Shen Cold-damp, Shen hot; (2) the symptom unit, clinical characteristic, bounding factor that have the specificity or the big contribution to the 7 Common syndromes were obtained; (3) the herbal medicines of the 7 common syndromes were also obtained. Conclusions: (1) Chinese medicine Shen disease often has deficiency syndrom; (2) Chinese medicine shen disease often has the symptoms in the waist or lower limb;(3) Chinese medicine shen is closely related with the reproduction function of our body;(4) hypersex is an important cause of Shen disease;(5) Chinese medicine shen disease is closely related with the disease of the feces and urine;(6) edema in the waist or lower limb is the characteristic of Chinese medicine shen disease; (7) Rehmannia Root is applied widely in Chinese medicine shen disease; (8) medicine comes from animal tissues were often be used to treat shen-jing deficiency;(9) to benefit the shen-yang plays an important role in the treatment of Chinese medicine shen disease; (10) balance the yin and yang is a special method to the treatment of Chinese medicine shen disease.
