The Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Acute Peripheral Facial Paralysis By "Jing Jin" Acupuncture Method

Objectives:Observation of the treatment of acute peripheral facial paralysis of clinical efficacy by "Jing Jin" Acupuncture Method.Through the International widely used House-Brackmann grading scale and facial disability index(FDI) scale,the facial nerve degree of paralysis grading scale,as well as inspection electrophysiological target, scientific evaluated the clinical effect of "Jing Jin" Acupuncture Method cure the acute peripheral facial paralysis.And provide a reliable basis and guiding principles to the application of clinical treatment methods.Methods:During March 2007 to August 2008,150 cases of acute peripheral facial paralysis which were selected from the acupuncture and moxibustion department of Wuhan Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital were involved in the clinical observation.All patients in the treatment of pre-production through Denmark Keypoint electromyography/evoked potential instrument for detecting the degree of surface damage neuropathy,and in the light of "Clinical Evoked Potential Study" assessed the grading of injury.Through the SPSS13.0 statistical software generated random number,150 cases of patients weredivided into three groups randomly.That is "Jing Jin" group(treatment group),routine acupuncture group(control groupⅠ) and western medicine group(the control groupⅡ),there are 50 cases in each group.The treatment group was treated by punctured DiChang,JiaChe,HeGu,YangBai,TaiYang,YiFeng, QuanLiao,XiaGuan.Nasolabial fold Shallow' add YingXiang. Difficult to raise eyebrows' add ZanZu.RenZhong skew' add KouHeliao.Lip chin groove skew' add ChengJiang.Methods of operation:Acupuncture the Prosopo-point and YiFeng on the Lesion side,acupuncture HeGu for the other side.The tip of the needle from DiCang to JiaChe,from TaiYang to QuanLiao.The angle between needle and skin is 15°.After acupuncture all needles in the YangBai, HeGu,YiFeng,XIiaGuan were kept for 30 minutes.Treatment group, acupuncture the points along the line of "yang min jing jin" every 1.67cm.During these 30 minutes rotate the needles every 10 minutes and continue 10-15 seconds.The treatment one time per day,one course of treatment contains 5 times,after one course have a rest for two days,all for four courses.Control groupⅠ,acupuncture the Prosopo-point and YiFeng on the Lesion side,acupuncture HeGu for the other side.The time of needle stated,the frequency of the rotation,the course of the treatment all the same with treatment group.Control groupⅡ,at earlier period patients take prednisone and vitamin B1,B12 i.m.at later stage take vitamin B1 P0.After all treatment,to observed the clinic therapeutic effect.To analyze the House-Brackmann,FDI,blink reflex and the facial nerve degree of paralysis grading scale objectively.Results: After four courses of treatment,all the three groups are effective. the total efficiency of the treatment group is better than the control groupⅡ,and the difference has statistically significant (P＜0.01);The difference between the treatment group and the control groupⅠhas no significant(P＞0.05),Compared the cure rates between two groups,the treatment group was significantly better than the control groupⅠ(P＜0.05).So the "Jing Jin" Acupuncture Method has a better efficacy in the treatment of acute peripheral facial paralysis.The Comparison of BR:the R1 wave will be observed as a target. Compared the change of the R1 in each group before and after treatment,both of the treatment group and control groupⅠhave significantly different(P＜0.01),And the control groupⅡhas no significant difference(P＞0.05).Analysis the difference between R1 of the three groups before and after treatment,the control groupⅡhas a significant difference between the other two groups,and the treatment group compared with the control groupⅠalso has statistically significant differences.FDI score:It is divided into two parts,physical function score and the function of social life assessment.Physical function score: The differences between treatment group and control groupⅠwere significantly(P＜0.01);Analysis the physical function score' differences of the three groups before and after treatment,all of them have significantly different(P＜0.01).The function of social life assessment:Compared the changes of their own score in each group before and after treatment,the treatment group and control groupⅠhas statistical significance(P＜0.01);Analysis the three groups' score before and after treatment,the control groupⅡhas a significant difference compare with other two groups(P＜0.01); the difference between the treatment group and control groupⅠhas no statistical significance.The degree of facial paralysis grading score:Before and after treatment,each group's score have statistical significance;and analysis the difference of three groups' facial paralysis score before and after treatment,all the three groups have significantly difference(P＜0.01).Conclusions:Studies have shown that,"Jing Jin" Acupuncture Method for the acute stage peripheral facial paralysis has the precise effect,both of the clinical symptoms or nerve electrophysiological targets' improvement were significantly superior to the conventional acupuncture group and western medicine group.In addition,the therapy also has the advantage of shorter the course of treatment and increased the recovery rate.It can be used as clinical preferred program for peripheral facial paralysis.
