Churg-Strauss Syndrome-Case Report And A Review Of The Literature

Objectives:To report a case of Churg-Strauss syndrome(CSS),and to review the related literatures.In this paper,we will discuss the pathogenesis,clinical and pathological characteristics diagnosis,treatment and prognosis of this rare disease.Method:Describe the clinical symptoms and signs,laboratory findings,imaging examinations and pathologic characteristics of this case,And also review the related literatures.Result:A 76 years old man was hospitalized in our hospital with complain of cough for 4 months and low of Albumin for 1 weeks,because p-ANCA is positive,renal biopsy was performed and the pathologic examination revealed:Its pathological characteristics comply with Churg-Strauss syndrome,including infiltration of Eosinophil,formation of Eosinophilic granuloma and so on.After the biopsy,the patient was treated with glucocorticoid.Cough improved,temperature turned to be normal,anemia is rectified,Urinary protein turn to be negative,general situation is improved.Conclusions:Churg-Strauss syndrome(CSS) is a rare disease,each system may be involved.Its clinical symptoms are nonspecific.For therapy,glucocorticoid is helpful. The prognosis is good for most of the patients.
