Background: Parkinson's Disease (PD) is most often considered as a disorder of movement. The non-motor symptorns(NMS) in PD may be of equal or greater significance in some patients. These NMS include cognitive disorders and autonomic symptorns, affecting the PD patients' quality of life. Objectives: To investigate the clinical features and correlation factors of non-motor symptoms of PD, such as cognitive impairment and autonomic symptoms .Methods: 93 definitely diagnosed PD patients in Neurology Department of Seconed Affiliated Hospital Zhejiang University College of Medcine were assessed from Jan 2008 to Mar 2009. They were divided into 2 groups (Tremor type \ Rigidity type) according to the main movement disorders .As the age of onset, Hoehn-Yahr grade, the gender and the course of disease, all of the data were analyzed by SPSS13.0 for windows. Results: The incidence rate of the 93 PD patients is 94.62%.Constipation was the most frequent NMS in PD,the occurrence rate was 51.61%, followed by dribbling which was 46.24%, cognitive impairment was 46.24%, postural hypotension was 10.75% and seborrhea was 3.23%.1. As the age of onset increased, cognitive impairment of PD was likely to increase as well.(P < 0.05) ; The cognitive impairment between male and female was significant difference(P < 0.05); As the course of disease increased, cognitive impairment of PD was likely to increase as well(P < 0.05). 2. As the age of onset increased, autonomic symptorns of PD was likely to increase as well.(P < 0.05) ; The rigidity type group were significantly lower than the tremor type group (P < 0.05) in the the occurrence rate of autonomic symptoms. As the course of disease increased, autonomic symptoms of PD was likely to increase as well(P < 0.05).Conclusion: Compared with 93 PD patients ,we found that non-motor symptoms was popular occurred. Several non-motor symptoms ,such as dribbling and constipation, can occur earlier in the disease. The onset age, the main movement disorders and the course of disease increased affect the clinical heterogeneity of Parkinson disease..Non-motor symptoms play a dominant role in the PD. Early recognition of these symtoms may lead to an early diagnosis of PD, in any case to improve the quality of PD patients' life and effective treatment.
