OBJECTIVE:To investigate the level of quality of life of depression patients, and to find factors related to it. To compare the quality of life and copying style in depressed inpatients with treatment and before and after nursing intervention. Its effect was evaluated so as to provide evidence of the government to make related policies to improve the quality of life of depression .METHODS:The study was conducted at the Xia Men a hospital 160 depression patients were investigated by outcomes study short-form 36(SF-36),SDS,SCSQ and basic state questionnaire 80 depressed inpatients were divided into two groups randomly: the intervention group and control group,each of 40 cares.Intervention group received nursing intervention for 8 weeks,while control group received conventional care only,then follow up 3 months,all patients were treated with antidepressant.Both two groups patients were assessed with SDS, SF-36 and SCSQ at baseline,8 -week and follow up 3-month.RESULT: (1)The score of physical functioning (PF),vitality (VT) were significantly higher in male than in female,while the score of role limitations due to mental health(MH) was reversed. (2)The score of PF,role-emotional (RE) and social functioning (SF) is higher in outpatients than inpatients.(3)The score of SF,VT were significantly higher in people at the age of below 40 than the people above 40. (4)The score of role-physical (RP) and SF was significantly higher in people less than high school than the people above high school,while the score of VT was reversed. (5)The score of SF,VT,MH was significantly higher in single people than married people. (6)The score of PF,SF,VT,MH and GH is higher in patients of convalescence satge than patients of paroxysmal satge.(7)The score of SF,bodily pain (BP),MH,GH is lower in patients who with other disease. (8)The score of SF,MH is lower in patients who had Negative Lief Events in last three months. (9) Education degree, impact of other disease and negative life events,score of SDS of patients were closely related to the seore of quality of life.(10)After nurseing intervention,the SDS scores of intervention group were lower than control group in 8-week and before intervention (P<0.05). (11) In the way of coping of intervention group, the scores of positive style were higher than control group in 8-week; the scores of positive style were higher and negative style were lower than control group in follow up 3-month(P<0.05). (12)The SF-36 of intervention group,the scores of PF,SF,BP,MH were higher than control group in 8-week(P<0.05); the scores of SF,BP,VT,MH were higher than control group in follow up 3-month (P<0.05);the scores of PF,RE,SF,BP,MH,GH were higher than before intervention in 8-week(P<0.05);the scores of RP,SF,MH were higher than 8-week in follow up 3-month (P<0.05).CONELUSION: (1)It is suggested that: female,elder people,patients of paroxysmal stage have poor quality of life. (2)Age,depression degree of patients,education degree,and negative life events may be the important factors that influence the quality of life of depression patients. (3) The depressed patients have an obvious low level of QOL,but they are able to be improved significantly with nursing intervention while they are treated with antidepressant. (4)We should improve the community and social support system ,It is significant to implement continuous nursing intervention to depression.
