Objective: To investigate the clinical value of two different conjunctival incisions of trabeculectomy for primary angle-closure glaucoma. Methods: The indications of trabeculectomy were set up for a randomized comparison study on 34 eyes (27 cases) with primary acute or chronic angle-closure glaucoma. Bulbar conjunctival incision of the treated group with basement of zone of the fornix, and reserve section conjunctiva of corneal limbus. Conjunctival incision of the control group with basement of corneoscleral limbus. Compare the therapeutic effects of two different conjunctival incisions of trabeculectomy. Results: Preoperative, intraocular pressure (IOP), age, et al. of two groups possess comparability, showed no statistical significance (P>0.05). Two groups time consuming of intraoperative had statistical significance (P<0.05). The postoperative IOP in two groups were well controlled postoperatively vs. preoperatively (P<0.05). The postoperative IOP in two groups at the some time showed no statistical significance. After 1 month the visual acuity and the filtrative cyst were not significantly different (P>0.05).The rate of shallow anterior chamber and the change of anterior angle in these two groups were not significantly different (P>0.05).Conclusion: The therapeutic effects of these two techniques were not significantly different. The technique of the treated group possess operate easy, field of operation expose preferably, less tissue injury, timesaving and so on. It's an ideal technique for primary angle-closure glaucoma therapy.
