Research Development Of Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation In The Therapy Of Diabetic Lower Limb Ischemia

Diabetic foot is the main complication of diabetes ,serious ones will have to be amputated and even died because of secondary infection ,ischemic necrosis. The stem cells have multiple differentiation activity and high self renewal potentiality. In specific microenvironment ,the stem cells can differentiated into endothelioid cells having vasoactive role ,which have a wide application future in the treatment of ischemic disease of lower extremity without outflow tract . Auto-stem cells transplantation is just use this principle.We transplant stem cells from peripheral blood or bone marrow to ischemic appendicular muscle or obsructed vessal in order to make them differentiate into newborn blood capillary ,improve and recover blood flow of lower limb and achieve the aim of treating lower limb ischemia. Preclinical and clinical researches indicate that transplantation of stem cell from bone marrow, peripheral blood or umbilical cord blood can increase collateral circulation and improve the limb ischemia,but still exist many problems , such as the security of stem cell transplantation, therapeutic efficacy for a long term, and how to improve the clinical effect, etc.Although many problems remain to be resolved, the therapy has unexampled advantage and wide development compared with the traditional ones .
