Objective:To evaluate the impact of progesterone(P) level and E2/P level of HCG administration on outcomes of in vitro fertilization in controlled o varian hyperstimulation.Method(s):658 cycles of IVF/ICSI performed in our reproduction center fro m N-ovember 2006 to November 2008 were analyzed retrospectively. The se cycles were stratified according to P levels of≥1.04ng/ml or<1.04ng/ml and according to E2/P levels of≥1.51 or<1.51.This cutoff level was selected because its yielded the highest sensitivity and specificity according to a receiver operator characteristic curve.Result(s):In cycles with high serum p levels, less oocytes were retrieved, clinical pregnancy rate was33.8%(in cycles with low serum P level were 44.6%),respectively(P<0.05).In cycles with high serum E2/p levels, more oocytes were retrieved and the cleavage rate was high. respectively(P<0.05).Conclusion(s):Our data showed adverse effect of high serum P levels on the day of HCG administration on clinical pregnancy rate. The level E2/P can anticipation the numbers of oocytes, the cleavage rate,high-quality embryo rate et al.
