Objective To observe the relationship between infantile hepatitis syndrome and human cytomegalovirus(HCMV) and EB virus(EBV) in Qingdao.Method To detect urine CMV-DNA and blood EBV-DNA by RQ-PCR in 80 infants who were highly suspected to have HCMV infection, and 40 healthy infants as control, meanwhile,HCMV-IgM was detected in the two groups.CMV-DNA and Hepatic function were detected respectively after discharged for half a year and one year. Results 51 out of 80(63.8%)infected infants were CMV DNA positive. However, the positive rate of healthy control is 10%.There is greatly difference between the two groups (χ~2 =31.032,P<0.01).The positive rate of HCMV-IgM is 46.25%,which were significantly higher than that in the healthy controls(2.5%)(χ~2 =23.588,P<0.01).EBV positive rate is 20%in blood and in deglutiatur excretion in EBV infection group,While, 2.5%in healthy control(χ~2=6.716,12.987,P<0.05).The positive rate of EBV VCA-IgM 11.25%,but there is no positive cases in healthy control(χ~2=3.378,P=0.066).In addition,2 cases were HBsAg positive and 1 was RPR positive. The antibody of HSV-IgM,anti-HAV and anti-HCV were negative.6 infants have CMV and EBV infection,in which ALT and AST were 4-5 times higher than that in CMV or EBV infection.55 cases were cured,21 were DNA positive and four were dead when discharged. Conclusion HCMV infection is the most important cause in the infantile hepatitis; The hepatitis function returnes to be normal in some CMV infected infants, but HCMV counld not:be completely negative. There is the possibility of recurrence,so infants with CMV infection should review regularly, monitor hepatitis function and viral load.EBV infection is an importante pathogenesis factor of infantile hepatitis syndrome.EBV infection should be taken into account the possibility of infantile hepatitis syndrome after exclusion of cytomegalovirus,CMV and EBV infection in small infants with severe liver damage. The proportion of infant with HBV infection is decreased significantly.
