Objective: To evaluate the quality of life and explore its influence factors of the patients with coronary heart disease after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI),using the Medical Outcomes Study:36-Item Short Form Survey Instrument and the disease-specific Seattle Angina Questionnaire(SAQ),providing the theoretical basis of improving the quality of life of patients after PCI.Methods: Self-control before and after trials were conducted in this study. A consecutive series of eligible patients was recruited from three hospitals in Tai yuan City, Shan xi province, China after their first percutaneous coronary intervention between May and October, 2008. After obtaining informed consent, Patients were required to complete a questionnaire survey by SF-36,SAQ and a designed general information questionnaire. The forms were filled before PCI, finished by patients themselves except the blind and the poor eyesight, these patients completed the questionnaire by the researchers whom reading for them; Six months after PCI, the data for the forms were collected from structured interview, telephone follow-up and community service, analyzing the factors that affect the quality of life. The description of the scores of quality of life using mean±standard deviation, the description of the situation of work and smoking using the percentage. The comparison of the quality of life between six months after PCI and before PCI using independent sample t-tests,the analysis of the factors that affect the quality of life after PCI using one-factor ANOVA and multiple regression analysis. Results: 1,Six months after PCI,49 (40.8%) patients are nonsmokers,43 (35.8%) patients are quitters,28 (23.3%) patients are current smokers. 2,Six months after PCI, there are 53 patients who return to work ,among them 45 patients (37.5%)have full-time job,8 patients (6.7%) have part-time job; There are 67 patients who do not return to work, among them 6 patients (5.0%) have not job,54 patients (45.0%) retired,7 patients (5.8%) do not return to work for cardic reason. 3,All the scores of SF-36 and SAQ six months after PCI are higher than the scores before PCI ,having significant statistical difference(P<0.01). 4,There are no correlation that age, sex, education, economic conditions, the type of coronary artery disease, disease history, vascular lesions with the quality of life of patients with coronary artery disease after PCI,there are multiple correlation that whether or not smoking and whether or not to return to work with the quality of life after PCI,the multiple correlation coefficient is 0.482.Conclusion:1,Some patients quit smoking after PCI,but there are still some patients continue to smoke. 2,PCI could recover the body strength quickly, most patients that having job before PCI could return to work. 3,PCI could significantly improve the quality of life of patients with coronary heart disease 4,Whether or not smoking and whether or not to return to work are the major factors that influenced the quality of life of patients with coronary heart disease after PCI...
