This study makes a adaption of the investigation to College of Humanities and Sciences of Virginia Commonwealth University and has a questionnaire research to the family of childhood autism about the development of the autism, treatments, social sustain system and the educational demand of family. To make a questionnaire research to the parents who join the training of the institution for autism in China,We sent out 178 questionnaires and had 147 available questionnaires back.In the end,we dealt with the data by SPSS15.0.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:1.We have knowledge to the ages of detection of early characteristics, therapeutic methods, social sustain system and the educational needs of family at the present time.2.Participants who report larger incomes and greater education did not report noticing early characteristics of autism in their children at younger ages.3.Participants who suggest that their children exhibited congenital autism did not report noticing characteristics of the disorder except "lack of eye contact"in their children at earlier ages relative to participants who indicate that their children experienced regression.4.Participants who suggest that their children exhibited congenital autism would be more likely to espouse a genetic etiology of the disorder, while participants who report developmental regression in their children would be more likely to attribute the disorder to some external mechanism.5.Comorbidity have no relation with congenital autism, and participants who report comorbid diagnoses in their children did not notice quantitatively more characteristics.6.About the ages of participants report noticing characteristics, there is no significant difference except "not playing with other children" between families having history of mental-health disorders and the families do not have.Having a family history of autism or other mental-health disorders did not affect the quantity of early characteristics that parents noticed or the ages at which such symptoms were detected.7.There is no significant difference about comorbidity between two groups of parents who report congenital and regressive. At last,we hope to table a proposal for the family, training of the institution and government to provide some support to the parents of autist.
