ObjectiveTo analyse the potential prognostic factors of the early stage cervical squamous cell carcinoma and investigate the correlation between LVSI and P53,COX2, CD44V6.MethodsThe 261 patients with early stage cervical squamous cell carcinoma, who undergo operation in Cancer Hospital of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from Mar 1999 to Des 2005,were retrospectively reviewed.Clinical and pathological characteristics, survival and prognostic factors were analyzed by SPSS 13.0 statistic software. The expression of P53,COX2 and CD44V6 were assessed by immunohistochemistry.ResultsThe 5 years-DFS and OS were 87.0%and 90.0%respectively.The patients with LVSI had more tendency to recurrence or metastases.By the single-variant's Kaplan-Merier analysis, the number of LN and LVSI were associated with the poor DFS,P were 0.010 and 0.005,respectively.As far as OS was concerned,LNM,LVSI and postoperative therapy were the factors of prognostic significance,P were 0.000, 0.000 and 0.017,respectively.After the multi-variants' Cox regression analysis,we found the number of LN and LVSI were the independent prognostic factors for DFS, P were 0.004 and 0.019,respectively.LVSI was the only independent prognostic factors for OS,P=0.011.But the RR of LNM for death was 5.502.The elevatory SCC-Ag before operation were more founded in patients with bigger tumor volume,LNM and DSI.But there was no statistical correlation between SCC-Ag and LVSI.The positive predictive value and negative predictive value of SCC-Ag for tumor recurrence or metastases were 75.0%and 95.1%,respectively.We failed to discover the relations between LVSI and the expression of P53, COX2,CD44V6.There was no dependability between the expression of P53,COX2, CD44V6 and patients' outcome.ConclusionsPatients with early stage cervical cancer had good prognosis.LVSI was very important factors for not only DFS but also OS.Routine SCC-Ag monitoring of patients with early stage cervical cancer could lead to the early diagnosis of recurrence and metastasis.
