Research On Treatment Of Pterocarpus Indcus Willd Extract On Diseases Caused By Disordered Androgen

OBJECTIVE:To research the treatment of Pterocarpus Indcus Willd extact on rat prostatic hyperplasia and rat androgenetic alopecia.Appraise the inhibition of Pterocarpus Indcus Willd extract on 5a-reductase for development of anti-androgen drugs.METHODS:(1)The prostatic hyperplasia rat model was established by subcutaneous injecting testosterone propionate to the castrated male rat with 2.5mg/kg.d We divided rats randomly into 6 groups,which were pseudo-operation group,model group,positive control group,high dose group,middle dose group and low dose group.After 28 days,measured the prostate wet weight,weight coefficient,glandular diameter,glandular epithelium height and histomorphology changes.(2)The androgenetic alopecia rat model was established by nape subcutaneous injecting testosterone propionate with 5mg/kg.d.The Pterocarpus Indcus Willd extract was given by the intragastric administration and the topical application on the back skin of rat.After 56 days, measured the remaining hair weight,final hair growth score and histopathology changes.RESULTS:(1) The results were expecially obvious in high dose rat compared with the model.The extact could lessen the prostate wet weight,alleviate the weight coefficient,control the growth of glandular diameter and glandular epithelium height,promote the size of glandular cavity consistently.(2) The results were expecially obvious in high dose rat by the intragastric administration compared with the model.The extact could reduce the depilation quantity obviously.Microscopic examination showed that the hair follicles were more and intensive.The hair bulbs were in the growing period,situated at the juncture between derma and hypodermis.The results had no significant differences by the topical application.CONCLUSION:Pterocarpus Indcus Willd extact could alleviate rat prostatic hyperplasia and rat androgenetic alopecia.It could inhibit the 5a-reductase,and could alleviate the diseases caused by disordered androgen.Transdermal drug delivery system is unavailable.
