Along with the advances of medical technology and changes of medical mode, the requirement of medical services have been increased and comprehensive personality of medical public health by society has been higher, then, it puts forward new test on medical education. The restriction of traditional medical education was exposed increasingly, which is difficult to adapt the rapid changes of social needs, so, we should provide urgent reform and exploring on medical education mode.The developed countries such as USA, Canada and Europe have recognized the developing requirement of modern medical mode very early, which have explored extensive and deepest research and trying on PBL, they thought that this educational mode and reason are beneficial for higher medical talents with culturing good cultural personality, cooperative ability, auto-study ability and strong clinical application. Because of the restrictions of educational system, cultural background and student's quality, it is not deep for our country to undergo PBL on medical education, and it is very little in experiences of lending.This paper is expanding on PBL around the hot-point problems of recent educational mode reform of medical schools internationally, importantly introduced the educational mode reform practice of Ningbo University School of Medicine.There is one major (five-year system) of clinical medicine of medical school of Ningbo university. It is very adapted to using PBL. At the first phase of medical school construction, we had performed a series of reforms on teaching methods and class establishment, and carried out teaching reason of PBL, changed traditional "pouring" medical educational mode aimed to knowledge transferring, and aimed at culturing "applied and talented" medical students who should be adapted to modern medical mode better.This mode had combined advantages of many modes of traditional and PBL, before clinical teaching, class teaching, core knowledge of transferring medicine, and strengthened reviewing materials, train of auto-study, at the stage of clinical teaching, we importantly used PBL mode, according to group cooperation, study-yourselves, discuss, then, making students learn new knowledge, and making use of earned knowledge, comprehensively analyzing and putting forward to ways for resolving problems.There are six parts for this paper, the first part briefly introduced the background of screening topics and research methods, and reviewed PBL situation in China and abroad. The second part introduced the basic situation of Ningbo University School of Medicine, and necessity and feasibility, and importantly introduced teaching mode reform and total design. The third part introduced carrying on PBL reasons, establishing the "early contacting clinical affairs", "clinical accompany", "bed teaching", and "graduating theses for medical students". The fourth part had briefly analyzed the effect of educational reform by the use of data investigating and experts' interviewing. The fifth part analyzed some difficulties or questions during educational mode reforms and put up primary solutions. The sixth part briefly summarized the situation of medical school educational mode, and confirmed the reforms and lending.This research used literatures, questionnaire comparative research, experts' discussion and mathematic methods, combined the cases of educational mode reform of medical school of Ningbo University ; The research points out: Combination of traditional medical mode with PBL intergrated educational mode from the self practice of medical school of Ningbo University, which is beneficial for culturing the auto-learning ability, creative spirit ability, humanism concern, team cooperation ability and clinical applied ability, that has definite advantages compared with traditional educational mode, it worth generalization of areas of civil medical education.
