Research On The Drug Risk Identification And Analysis In Hospital

In recent years, the public, society and government, even the international community, have paid widely attentions to the drug safety in China due to the series of the fake or inferior medicines and deadly adverse drug reactions/events. The regulatory system of drug of China was interpellated. All kinds of conflicts related to drug administration were disclosed and the drug safety problems in China are in high risk phases. The irrational drug use phenomenon is serious in our country and it was estimated that about one hundred and ninety thousand consumers are died of adverse drug events. The report issued in 2000 by IOM has aroused great attention of governments from all over the world. The developed countries such as the USA and U.K. are introducing the theory and methods of risk management into the patient safety management.Drug risk management involves in drug R&D, ratification, manufacturing, and medication use links. Right and rational drug use or not is a key destination link that relates directly the drug risk. During the medication management of medical institutions, adverse drug events (ADEs)will happen if the uncertainty factors couldn't be identified, evaluated and intervened. The patients and medical institutions would suffer the consequence of ADEs. In order to avoid the risk of medication use link and ensure the patient safety, drug risk management should be performed.The drug risk management in the hospitals was discussed in this dissertation by the combination with theory and practice, with the qualitative and quantitative risk analysis methods. Through analyzing the drug attributes and features of drug risk, we introduce the theories, principles and tools of risk management into the field of drug risk management, then the related concepts of drug risk are defined and risk factors of medication use was analyzed. Drug risk management process is constructed. Preliminary research on the identification and assessment methods was done through drug risk management practices in some hospital. The thesis analyzes the drug risk management scientifically and exactly by using method of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis. In the end, Strategies of drug risk management in hospital were submitted.
