Drug craving is defined as a strong desire, need and/or compulsive to use a particular psychotropic substance. Based on 267 male herion user in Reeducation through Labor, the present study Clarified the relationship between drug craving, personality, depress, irrational belief, coping styles and relapse tendency. Analyse the determinants and mediators of drug craving, Explored the impact of drug craving, personality, depress, irrational belief,and coping styles on relapse tendency. The results showed that (1) the subjects had higher scores on drug craving; (2) there is no significant differential between drug craving and the different levels of demographic characteristics. There is no significant correlation between drug craving and variables of addictive behaviors except use frequency; (3) personality, depress, irrational belief and negative coping style was positive correlated with drug craving, and positive coping style was negative correlated with drug craving; (4) personality, depress and irrational belief were the predictors of drug craving; (5) coping styles were the mediators of the association between drug craving and relapse frequency; (6)personality, depress, irrational belief and drug craving were the predictors of relapse frequency. Those results suggested that as results of personality , depress, and irrational relief, herion user suffered from high level drug craving. And not only can drug craving predict relapse, the determinants of drug craving, and the mediators of the association between drug craving and relapse tendency can play more significant role on relapse frequency.
